ADVANCED CRANIAL SUTURAL TECHNIQUES

 Cranial Coarse Outline: Saturday, February 15, 2014 

1. Introduction to cranial technique: (1 hour: 8am-9am) cranial anatomy including osseous structures, palpation contacts and landmarks, cartilaginous and membranous function,  cranial bone relation to the meninges, patterns of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) flow, sutural morphology and motility. 
2. Explanation of flexion, extension, internal and external motion, the primary respiratory mechanism (PRM) and the cranial rhythmatic impulse (CRI) including a review of the current and historic research substantiating cranial respiratory motion, reciprocating tension membrane function, sutural restriction and its effect on the neural system. (1 hour: 9 am-10 am) 
3. Explanation of visual diagnostic analysis of cranial lesions and faults. Workshop: Palpation of cranial structures and PRM and CRI pulse determination and evaluation. Palpatory assessment of sutural restriction.   (1 hour: 10 am-11 am) 
4. Break: (30 minutes; 11 am-11:30 am) Question and answer period. 
5. Explanation and workshop on mandibular motion technique and temporomandibular diagnostic evaluation. (1hour: 11:30 am-12:30 pm) 
6. Lunch: (1 hour: 12:30 pm-1:30 pm)  
7. Cranial ranges of motion (De Camp and Pick) review of the concepts of individual cranial motion in relation to associated structures and determination of fixation and release.  Hands on workshop and instruction. (1 3/4 hours: 1:30 pm- 3:15 pm) 
8. Break: (15 Min: 3:15 -3:30) 
9. Cranial specific and nonspecific techniques: Emergency/antidote (Cranial Uncle Tom), Eustachian Tube Technique, Epilepsy Technique, Frontal Bone Moulding, Fronto-Maxillary Lift, Craniofacial Technique, Fronto-Zygomatic Technique, Sphenopalatine Ganglia Technique and Nasal Maxilla Technique. (2 hours: 3:30 – 5:30)
