The American Chiropractic Association’s Women’s Council on Women’s Health will be hosting its first Symposium, September 28-29, at Logan University.
The event, “Caring for the Female Patient Throughout Her Physiological Journey,” will feature nationally known women’s health experts on topics such as nutrition and heart disease, brain health, posture, pelvic floor dysfunction, breastfeeding dysfunction and more.
Logan faculty member and ACA Women’s Council President Kristina Petrocco-Napuli, DC, MS, FICC, FACC, said she’s excited to bring to light topics that are not regularly discussed in the chiropractic profession. She said her goal was to secure high-caliber speakers from around the country who are experts in women’s health, and she hopes that those attending will leave with new strategies for the female patient population.
“Our profession needs this, and I think it’s been a missing piece for a long time because women proactively seek health and wellness for pain and practitioners are asking, ‘how can I practice evidence-based, patient-centered care?’” she said. Petrocco-Napuli emphasizes that while the event is focused on females, it is open to all.
About the American Chiropractic Association
The American Chiropractic Association (ACA) is the largest professional chiropractic organization in the United States. ACA attracts the most principled and accomplished chiropractors, who understand that it takes more to be called an ACA chiropractor. We are leading our profession in the most constructive and far-reaching ways — by working hand in hand with other health care professionals, by lobbying for pro-chiropractic legislation and policies, by supporting meaningful research and by using that research to inform our treatment practices. We also provide professional and educational opportunities for all our members and are committed to being a positive and unifying force for the practice of modern chiropractic.
